You have to get the search engines on your site. Search engines love quality content related links to your site. I found a great free site that puts "similar" sites in contact with one another in order to exchange links.

Not garbage links from unrelated sites in foreign languages…sites that the engines penalize you for. But high quality, similar content links.

There is no such tricks. You should provide good contents, exspecially text contents with rich keywords through your site and make it interesting to your visiotrs. Then you will get high rank in google. Give fresh contents regularly will help more.

If you try to "trick" the search engines you are on the wrong track.

What is interesting is that posting something here with relevant keywords like "page rank" or "seo" can get THIS page into the first page of Goog. So you can piggyback, so to speak, on Craigslist.com and other powerful sites.

If you get a call from an SEO person who guarantees first page placement, run as fast as you can away from the phone. They just can’t guarantee it.

Oh, longevity on the web has HUGE significance.

Relevant keywords, register for google webmaster tools, upload your sitemap.xml, optimize your content, update frequently, write semantically correct xhtml that validates, properly format meta tags, alt tags, and any other tag with keywords.
