Content, loads and loads of interesting content. And then, follow these steps:
Step 1: Make sure you have plenty, high quality (means interesting for your visitors), unique (written yourself, not copied) content on your blog
Step 2: Write a few articles about your topic, and post them on article directories such as ezinearticles.com and such. This will create links towards your blog
Step 3: Write articles that answer peoples questions about the topic here on answers. Then answer their questions here in answers.
Step 4: Submit your website to directories such as dmoz.org and plenty of others
Step 5: Find other blogs about the same topic, and comment on their articles, make sure your comment adds something usefull, not just saying something like "great blog". Put a link to your blog in your comment.
Step 6: submit your blog to sites like mybloglog.com and blogcatalog.com and get a good community of friends there.

There is a very simple answer although this is a very complicated topic….
I just hired a guy to take care of getting my site ranking well in google…he knows his stuff, and I am not gonna spend a year trying to learn it….there are tons of factors that go into rankings and considering googles search Algorythm is unknown the only way to get better rankings is with someone who has alot of experience with trial and error on Google rankings…
Send an email to Joe over at the Account Superstore…he does great work and can get just about any site ranking in top 10 on google…he usually charges about $1,000 or so per month for his google consutling and to get your site ranking well….THOUGH when you see the amount of traffic it brings the 1k will pay itself off in no time flat….
