Create good quality content and submit it to social bookmarking websites to build backlinks and to get some traffic from those sites. Submit articles to article directories that allows authors to put their website url. Do forum posting with a sig file. Comment on blog posts related to your niche put your url with it as your source of refernce. The higher the rank of sites that you link to the better chances of your site to rank high in the search engines. Do this over and over and you will build a massive backlinks.

Create great content related to your industry, perhaps on a blog (on the same website as the business website). Use social media techniques to promote the content. If it truly is quality content, people will link to it, and perhaps to your company's homepage as well. These are the best sort of links you can get.
