To view all the links Google has found for your website you need to use Google Webmasters Central (www.google.com/webmasters). You can use the "External Links" section inside the dashboard. This will show you all the backlinks Google has found for your site, this data updates weekly. This is "far" better results than the link: search operator.
References :
http://www.civicseo.com - a public search engine optimization knowledge database.

Hi there

I am checking my backlinks every day and i found google normally updating the backlinks every 2 month. Its only rough idea...
Google doesn't show all the backlinks that you've got. Its better if you check your backlinks in Yahoo.

Thanks
References :
http://www.kaspid.co.uk
