Backlinks

When posting on backpage.com, how does this help your website ranking? Also, will your website appear in the organic searches from keyword searches or only if they type in the actual URL. Thank you!

Search engines often use the number of backlinks that a website has as one of the factors for determining that website’s search engine ranking. Most commercial search engines provide a mechanism to determine the number of backlinks they have recorded to a particular web page.

To let search engines index your new blog with its pages, you must build some links to the blog. The easiest way is by submitting it to blog directories. You can also exchange links with other related blogs. Increase your back-link numbers and therefore your website’s page rank by Back-links, page rank, Google-bot activity monitoring on your website’s pages and keywords analysis. Increase traffic to your website and get hits from related websites just using your own traffic. The system is very simple, all you need is to put in your pages a banner and as the websites from the banner will be receiving hits from your webpage your website will appear in similar banners from other websites (in similar categories as your website) and implicitly you will be receiving traffic from these websites.

Hope this helps.

  1. Justin Said,

Yes definitely. The more sites linking your website makes search engines (SE) think that your site is important and therefore will put your site in their high ranking pages and so you’ll gain substantial amount of traffic. But take note that it’s not just any kind of links but quality 1-way links that SEs are looking for. Reciprocal links (site A links to B, and B back to A) for example are kinds of links that SEs do not value very much at all anymore because they are obviously just some kind of exchange links and do not really signifies the quality of the sites. SEs want to see one-way links (or at least what it believes are one-way links).

There’s this new technology that’s been becoming a buzz around webmasters circle lately called 3WayLinks which according to them is Google friendly but does exactly what backlinks are intended for.

In a 3-way link setup, site A links to site B, site B links to site C, and site C links to site A. Google sees each link in the 3-way link exchange as a one-way link and gives it the FULL ranking value of a one-way link.

There’s a review in Wordpress.com about this technology. You might want to check it out. Good luck!

  2. Bob Said,

Only if they are relevant. If you have a website about hiking a back link from a website about an unrelated subject won’t do much good to improve SEO.

A website about hiking should have relevant back-links, say from other hiking sites, outdoor sites, etc.

  3. Alex Said,

I have also read about this 3 way links stuff and it looks very promising.

  4. Gene Said,

Sure…besides that, the quality of your links will BE also evaluated. In other words… the use of keywords, making your links in the right places, as our friend said before. Why is that? cause the Google algorithm will chose which url are more relevant than others based on the link content.

    Regards,
