Backlinks

Archive for November, 2009

I was wondering if anyone had a list of high PR sites that provide a backlink in exchange for adding a profile to their site. I understand some sites credit you more for adding content to their site, and that is fine. I know all the common ones like social bookmarking, Ezine, Dashboard, etc. I am looking for sites that are different.

Many social bookmarking sites are high page ranked. Best example is Digg. Just register and post your link on the site.

See this website. It is for a program called web ceo. It explains how search engines work and how to get your site recognized and increase your ranking by them. I just got on Google by using it.

It is free to download and even if you don’t upgrade it has tons of useful info!

GOOD LUCK!

I was doing a research studies on a website http://www.seo-vantage.co.uk .their page rank was 0 one month back but suddenly now its 3 .any idea how they got it. Please help me with this i think its a valuable point for my Project.please try to visit their website and find the answer for my question

more Links from other websites to Your websites

I think this is crazy.
Is the only way to get higher ranking is by back linking?
They want me to spend hundreds of hours begging people to exchange links with my site. make sure they are relevant.. Whats that going to prove? I know people buy them somehow. Is there just a better way?

Yes, pagerank is all about who is linking to your site — the more a website is considered an "authority" the better for you. From the Google webmaster pages explaining pagerank http://www.google.com/technology/

——————————————-
PageRank Explained

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important." Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages’ relative importance.
——————————————-

Google does not expect you to spend hundreds of hours begging for people to exchange links with your site. What they want are "natural linking patterns" where a site naturally links to you because your site has GREAT CONTENT, and not as a result of some manipulation of the system.

People do buy links — but Google is now penalizing sites that sell these text links. Scammers and spammers may be a step ahead of Google, but the search engines do catch up — and when they do, they can wreak havoc on the site. In this case, if you sell text link for pagerank purposes, you can expect to see your Google traffic fall down drastically, if not totally removed from the Google database.

Don’t think of sending thousands of links. Instead focus on building great, useful content that your visitors will want and search engines will love. It is not a hard concept at all … except for those who want a shortcut to everything, including Google rankings

Do not spam !!!! and keep within the terms and conditions of Yahoo please only give your accounts or experiences with these companies and if they genuinely worked. This is designed to genuinely help those starting up websites or people who want to increase traffic to their sites. Give honest recommendations and provide your own sources of knowledge so everybody can improve their understanding of seo. Thanks TIM

The short answer is that yes, some of them can. The problem is that of the 15k+ companies and individuals that claim to be able to improve your ranking only a handful fully understand SEO and emarketing. Employing just anyone is a waste of money and to show a return on investment you have to find the needle in the haystack.

Here are some basic questions you should ask a supplier of SEO services before making any decisions.

1. Ask for 5+ references and current clients and make sure you speak with all of them personally.

2. What type of reporting will they provide?

3. Do they offer Return On Investment (ROI) analysis?

4. Can they assure you that the optimization strategies and methods used will be ethical and hence guarantee no penalties for your website?

5. Do they place a link on their clients sites to their site? (You want a NO here!)

6. Ask to see a sample contract. Check that it says ‘what is’ and ‘what isn’t’ required on the clients part and details what they say they will do.

7. How many hours will they put into working on your site?

8. Make sure you will not be ‘ransomed’ if you decide not to use them any more at some stage.

9. Do they outsource any of the work? (You want a NO here!)

10. What results can you expect and over what time scales?

Of course a good supplier of these services will not be cheap and it may be that your budget does not allow you to employ anyone good to do the SEO for you. In that case don’t employ any of the other 99.9% of unskilled SEOs and throw your money away, do the SEO yourself!

If you do it yourself you must be prepared to put in a lot of time and hard work because there is no easy rout to the top. A good place to start is by finding a few top quality sites as a source of information, like this one for example http://www.seo-blog.com/tutorial.php.

i am looking some couples, relationship related backlinks? anyone guide me how to get this links? ready buy !

Lots of Experience link builing companies available , however, as a professional SEO company Extreme Seo Internet Solutions will help you particular link building project,

I notice every Twitter post I make goes into an RSS feed exclusively on Twitter. Is there a way I can use this information to help improve my search engine ranking?

You want to submit your rss feed to rss aggregators and directories. This will create back links to your site or twitter page etc. One way of many.

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is to first set up a website and publish its domain name on major search directories such as Google.com, Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these search directories to provide them with goods and services. In a sense, these search directories are a very large Internet Yellow Pages.

Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using such "generic" queries will not be able to discover your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website, in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the Internet audience and their incoming setup. For example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages take too long to load up and therefore analog users will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple question, "Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users for maximum marketability, then select analog users since 80% of most resident users are still analog Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – "Keywords" are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which is defined as the loading, and submission of repetitive words into a particular metatag category. "Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the elimination of your website from their search directory.

Here’s an example of a very highly-placed website on Yahoo.com: Begin with the search query "pizza downtown los angeles." It will bring up some 1.4 million+ websites as results. Check out where "Pizza Next Door" is ranked. It’s in the Top Five! Again, Pizza Next Door’s high web presence was achieved by proper web design and placement of relevant metatags according to Yahoo’s publication guidelines.

Good luck!

I’m trying to get indexed as fast as possible. I have a lot of weaker links but I’m looking for PR 4+ sites. If anyone knows a site willing to do link exchange or if any webmaster would link exchange with me I would really appreciate it.

The blog is http://matthewcorgan.blogspot.com/

Info – It has been around 3-4 months and has a lot of weaker one way backlinks already.

What you really need to do is contact other blog writers in your niche. Ask them to check out your website and hopefully they will find it interesting enough to link to you. Don’t just ask them for a link, this might turn them off enough that they’ll not even visit your site at all.

The other best thing you can do is submit your best blog posts to stumbleupon, digg, and other social media websites.

But what you will most want to consider is getting your website on your own domain and hosting service. It can be hard to rank a subdomain on blogspot. Get a keyword in your domain name as well.
