I added to google base and added the google bot to my page. But when I do a search, I am not showing up at all when I should be.

LINKS!!! Get other sites to point to yours so the spider bots will crawl it. Also TIME… it doesn’t happen overnight.

The best I have found other then paying for advertisement is good quality links

Add some Good High Ranking links to your main page and also to other pages on your website.
Advertise in your local papers can also be a benefit

Be patient,The Web is a very large News Paper and it will take some time to get out there to where people know.

It may take years to get your site popular.

I agree with @Will

there is no set answer. a slow and steady increase over time is the way to look really good to Google. this shows that your site has interesting content and that other people like it (by linking to your content)

if you are using a blog, its important to keep in mind that the ideal situation is for each of your posts to continue to get backlinks over time, not just the new posts.

another thing to keep in mind is that the development of backlinks should appear to increase naturally, through a variety of sources. getting 100 per week isn’t really needed. you can get yourself on page 1 with very little work. following up that work with a slow and steady increase of backlinks will keep you on the first page for most of the time.

have a look at

this is a free online course about developing an online business. it is completely free and they don’t try to sell you anything. it is starting tomorrow. the course is geared toward complete beginners but has useful information for people of all skill levels.

You may also want to look at

this is another course I used to help build traffic to my own site. the best part of this course is the viral twist at the end. it only takes about 15 minutes to read through. Also interesting, this course teaches techniques that do not require any ranking on any search engines

hope this helps

how do i increase my page rank. Please help me out.
my website url: www.realtimepcrkits.com

You homepage in currently ranked as 0/10
To get a higher page rank you need to make google think your website is important. Importance is determined by reputation and obviously SEO is the way to do this.

The most important area of SEO in your content which is judged by keywords. Meta data is not important anymore in the eyes of Google, because too many people used to try to manipulate them via their meta data. After looking at yours, I would definitely say you have to many LONG keywords which could harm your rankings with google.

Incoming links is the key to getting a higher page rank score. If you had a link from say Apple.com who have a page rank of 9/10 (because google view them as important) then some of their reputation would be carried over to your site and your page rank would go up.

A good metaphor for page rank is liquid/water. If a site has a tube (link) from their site to yours then through the tube (link) water would be transferred (page rank) The higher the page rank on a site, the bigger the tube, meaning more water (page rank) will be transferred.

It also Apple’s to the individual pages on your own website. Your homepage or landing page should have links to it from every page on your site to make sure it gets all the page rank transferred up from all the other pages. This will mean your most popular page should have the highest page rank of your site

If you think of all your on-site links and all your incoming and outgoing links as carrying liquid you can learn to manage the flow of page rank. The trick is to try and keep hold of as much as possible.

This is just the very basics of it, there is a lot more to it including the relevance of your anchor text (the text used in a link) that determines how powerful the transfer of page rank will be, it can get quite complicated when you get to the nitty gritty but there is so much FREE information online you should have no problem learning it.

Finally, did you notice I specified FREE. I just want to point out, you should never pay to learn SEO because the information is out there. So many people try to charge to teach SEO when really they are just conning you because there is plenty of great free resources available.

In the next few weeks I will be launching my FREE course teaching how to start an online business. This course does include a lot of SEO so it may be useful to you. It’s a course spread out over 10wks delivered via email.
When the site is ready it will be advertised on serphost.com (link below)

Anyway good luck getting you PR up. It can be fun when you start to see the results of your hard work.

Finally Google has so much info in their webmaster central, I’ve included a link below for you.

I know there are hundreds of factors on SEO but I’m specifically looking at what is the most important factor assuming I have already built a webpage that is optimized for search indexing. I heard that backlinks particularly on very high relevance sites will boost my webpage to go up the search results but wonder if this is true.

The two most important factors are the title element (sometimes mistakenly called a tag) and inbound links. The imortance of inbound links is in turn based on:

*The anchor text

*The linking page (the page on which the link is situated)

*The linking site (the site which contains the page the link is on)

*The linked page (the page on your site that is linked to)

See http://www.seo-blog.com/inbound-links.php and http://www.seo-blog.com/outbound-links.php

By this I mean is it possible to plot the progress of search engine optimisation as you try to improve your websites ranking? ie. one day it will be 200,000th and the next 120,000th so you have improved its ranking.
Hope this makes sense.

There are a range of free tools – but none of them go to the depth that you mention – infact in google mos searches are stopped after 990 pages.

however the link below is a simple free tool from a reputable SEO company that can track position movements in the top 100 keywords.

to my main site www.gochinasites.com which was always my main site.
1. If I do this, will it work? In terms of accumulating my hits onto the one site?
2. Will Google / Yahoo be ok with that?

ps. they are travel sites and each site besides the main one is about a different city so it doesn’t seem like a breach ethics to me, but does anyone know the policy on this?
Cheers.

It’s a good idea to at least redirect them to webpages on the same domain.

1. Yes, it certainly works if you use a 302 redirect.
2. Yahoo and Google are fine with it!

Generally, if it makes the search results more relevant, search engines LIKE you to do things like this.

I was wondering how I can create some valid backlinks and then I found out that some dating sites have millions of them, so the question is how they do that in a short time?

1. Buying backlinks (packages sometime come in thousands)
2. Having workers posting up backlinks as their jobs
3. Great content so actual people link to it (Most important)

It’s money basically; you need to invest some to get successful.

Please describe your personal experience to improve page ranking for flash game or flash website. I have multiplayer flash game, but I didn’t launch it yet.

If this is your first experience, I would suggest uploading it to Kongregate. It has a large and very loyal community and that will earn you a ton of exposure which is worth a lot more than just a minimal amount of traffic to your site.

Otherwise, just make sure you have relavent and thorough content (words) on your site, check your title bar, include tags, and try to link to your site on other gaming websites and forums that allow this.
